Free memberships
Students of any country may sign up for ESL (English as a Second Language) and Computer Fundamentals courses, without becoming a member, or paying a fee. These courses are free to students around the world as part of the WVS Literacy Program.
Student/Individual
Individual students, home schoolers and non-traditional students can now take up to 6 free, online courses each year; a $2,500 USD value, by paying a membership fee that is dependent on the GDP of their native country. This is an amazing opportunity for those who are seeking education for a realistic, approachable price. Whether they're learning engineering skills via the latest Mobile Broadband or using the local web cafe to improve their knowledge of ICT, the price never goes above their means. This means that for as little as $1/course (Zimbabwe), a student can earn a years worth of credit towards their high school degree. Students and Individuals also receive access to the online newsletter, online data and statistics provided by the WVS about current enrollment and demographics, and free admission to the annual World Virtual School conference, by internet or in person.
Educator/Teacher
For the cost of only 1 course, non-profit educators and teachers can now use up to 10 free, online courses each year for their students. This means that for only $300 USD per year, courses cost $30 per student, at a cost well below the tuition rates of most public schools in 3rd World Countries. Educators and Schools also receive access to the online newsletter, online data and statistics provided by the WVS about current enrollment and demographics, and free admission to the annual World Virtual School conference, as well as being able to recommend new courses for development.
NGO
NGOs are non-profit, non-governmental organizations that work with the United Nations to provide services to individuals within their sphere of influence. In order to promote NGO activities and equitable education around the world, NGOs have free access to all courses of the WVS for up to 20 students each year. If they need more courses, please feel free to email the admin@world-virtual-school.com for permission to enroll.
NGOs also receive access to the online newsletter, online data and statistics provided by the WVS about current enrollment and demographics, free admission for 10 individuals to the annual World Virtual School Conference, and a voice in WVS policy making and board membership.
For Profit Organization
For profit organizations, such as private schools, corporations, internet cafes, telecentres, and LLCs, pay a $3,000 USD yearly fee for membership and may utilize up to 100 free courses each year for students of their choice; resulting in a $30/course cost. Courses can NOT be resold at a profit, without a profit-sharing agreement in place with the WVS. Additional courses can be aquired by paying additional membership fees for each multiple of courses.
For Profit Organizations also receive access to the online newsletter, online data and statistics provided by the WVS about current enrollment and demographics, free admission for 10 individuals to the annual World Virtual School Conference, and a voice in WVS policy making and board membership.
Non-Profit organizations and Schools
For the cost $2,500 yearly membership, non-profit Schools can now use up to 100 free, online courses each year for their students; a $25,000 USD value, and a cost of $25/course. This means that schools with a small budget, or the need for teachers in specific fields, students can utilize online courses of the highest quality, at the lowest cost possible. Schools also receive access to the online newsletter, online data and statistics provided by the WVS about current enrollment and demographics, and free admission for 10 individuals to the annual World Virtual School conference, as well as being able to recommend new courses for development.
Country Wide
Country wide programs, such as programs sponsored by nationwide educational agencies, pay a $30,000 yearly membership fee, but may utilize up to 1000 free courses; a $125,000 value. This means that each student course costs approximately $30 and includes a highly qualified instructor, online virtual classroom with real time audio and the highest quality online courseware.
Country Wide members also receive access to the online newsletter, online data and statistics provided by the WVS about current enrollment and demographics, and free admission for up to 50 individuals to the annual World Virtual School conference, and board membership.
Affiliate
Affiliate memberships are for other Course Providers who would like to advertise their own programs as part of the World Virtual School catalog. Affiliate pay a $1,000 yearly membership fee, and may advertise as many courses as they would like.
Affiliate members also receive access to the online newsletter, online data and statistics provided by the WVS about current enrollment and demographics, and free admission for up to 10 individuals to the annual World Virtual School conference, and board membership.
